About

Jackie Chase has been teaching piano for 37 years having studied in Edinburgh and London. Alongside her award winning Kodaly baby and toddler music classes, she has taught piano to all ages individually and in schools. She also enjoys teaching adult beginners, so anyone who would like to start exploring the keys should get in touch.

Her aim is to develop a love of music making in students and for them to create a space in their lives where music can enhance their health and happiness, whilst building the essentials of good tone and technique. Jackie teaches students to effectively explore all genres including baroque, classical, romantic and 20th century. She encourages collaboration with other players in duets and concertos with regular performances throughout the year.

Jackie has won several awards and her students have scholarships and bursaries to prestigious schools and specialist music schools including Brighton College, Wells Cathedral Music School and Christ Hospital School and have gone on to perform and teach internationally.

Many of her students have received their own ABRSM diplomas, and went on to become internationally recongised professional musicians, performing at European Music Festivals.

Jackie is married to retired lecturer in American Studies Nathaniel Chase, and has two sons, one running Under the Bridge Studios in Brighton and one residing and working with his fiancé in IT in Seattle.
